Working in the Graphics Department at Paul Smith in Nottingham, I was one of a team of four Graphic Designers who worked with the Aboud Creative agency and also the Paul Smith marketing and display departments.

Our prime responsibility was all cross-media advertising relating to marketing the Paul Smith Brand.

My responsibilities at Paul Smith included:

Brand Management- Quality control and ensuring that a strong consistent brand identity is retained throughout all products.

Advertising- Producing a range of creative media to promote the Paul Smith Brand. This included: brochures, stationery, direct mail, invitations, seasonal campaigns, editorial layout, and display (exhibition, billboard, P.O.S and window).

Typography- Producing purely typographic concepts and designs when needed and quality control of all general typography relating to the brand.

Digital- Within the design team I was solely responsible for all digital advertising, including animated and static banners, email newsletters, images for social media sites, and creatives for paulsmith.co.uk.

Illustration- Producing both hand-drawn and vector illustrations for invitations and advertising.

Print- Preparing print-ready artwork, press-passing and general liaison with both digital and offset printing and finishing houses.

Within these areas my role was to promote Paul Smith products and events and creatively maintain the correct use of the brand and all of the many label lines under the Paul Smith brand.

To operate successfully within all these disciplines, a keen eye for typography, branding and attention to detail was required at all times and excellent time management and team-working skills were essential, as was a sound set of technical skills.

Working as an artist for one of the worlds most respected fashion designers I had the opportunity to work for high-profile clients including Kate Moss, Paul Weller, Vic Reeves, the Manchester United Squad, The Royal Ballet and Channel 4.
